Becky and Jeffrey
May 3rd 2023, Zonzo Estate Winery.
It is always such a pleasure being so fortunate enough to officiate ceremonies in the Yarra Valley, and Becky and Jeffrey's wedding was indeed no exception!
I always love seeing artefacts in what mean the most to the couples, and here are a few beautiful ones that are significant to Becky and Jeffrey.
I always encourage and love a first look, it is so beautiful and the couple gets to share a private moment of love and happiness before the big day. Beck and Jeffrey's was especially beautiful.
Now all that was left to do was get the wedding started, I was particularly nervous as Becky and Jeffrey's wedding was going to be live-streamed to their friends and family both interstate and overseas, but the pressure only made it more beautiful, and made me really want to bring my A-game, and a pre-ceremony hug with the bride and groom always calms nerves!
And with that, it was time for the ceremony to begin! Becky and Jeffrey started by acknowledging everyone on the live stream, and doing an acknowledgement of country, which is so important at each of my weddings, you'll find they are always done in every circumstance.
We then began the ceremony, and what a ceremony it was! There was laughter, tears, a crowd vow and a very happy couple and celebrant!
We then went ahead to the vows, and Becky and Jeffrey were amazing in that they memorised their vows! I did bring my vow cards just in case, but it was evident pretty quicky that they did not need them!
We then exchanged rings, and during this moment, I usually get the couple to say 'I do' as even thought it is not a legal requirement, I love hearing it at ceremonies, and it just feels right to say it on your wedding day!
We then get to that moment, the kiss. I love how each couple has their own special way of making it their own moment, and I step well out of the way for this in every single ceremony I do, no exception!
We then got to the moment where we officially pronounced them husband and wife, and I may or many not have gotten a bit too excited! This was super fun gathering around them and all cheering as they walked down the aisle for the first time together, what a moment!
All in all, what can I say? Becky and Jeffrey's wedding truly was a spectacular affair, one which I will cherish for many more years to come and I was so thankful that they chose me to deliver the ceremony they dreamed of on their special day!
